Command Equi Sport
Is a registered American Hanoverian. He was bred by Lacy Morrone - Cramer and foaled here at Equi Sport. Commando, or Mannie as he is affectionately called around the stable, is by Comic out of F-Laureen 016 who was a highly successful show jumper in the amateur divisions here in the United States under Lacy Morrone - Cramer. Knowing she was breeding a future super star Morrone - Cramer had a vision of a stallion with the bone and confirmation of a little bit of the old style super sturdy Holstiener with the lightness and rideability of the newer more modern warmblood and that is exactly what she got. Mannie has a wonderful neck and shoulder giving him a very uphill and light ride and gaits with an amazing back and hind end giving him the power behind those gates that allow him to do jump effortlessly and in perfect form over the fences. His outstanding confirmation combine with his sweet and willing temperament and calm yet powerful way of going make him the perfect match for just about any mare. He stamps all his offspring with his exceptional neck and shoulder and sweet and willing temperament. All of his attributes of course come directly from the impressive linage that he is built upon.
Comic's breeder Johannes Brinkmann aimed to produce in Comic a top dressage horse without neglecting jumping talent. Comic is just that … a son of the highly versatile and proven Holsteiner stallion Come On, Comic is a testimony to the vision of Johannes Brinkmann.
Comic produced Class I results in his 100-Day Test in Münster-Handorf (123.14) in the year 2000 and was awarded a score of 10.0 for his general rideability. He also earned scores of 9.0 in riding horse and aptitude tests and won several riding horse classes and dressage novice classes as a 4-year old. As a 5-year old, Comic earned a 6th place finish in the 2002 FEI World Championships for Young Horses in Verden and 5th place at the prestigious Bundeschampionat. Comic showcased the versatility of his pedigree by competing lightly in jumpers at age 6.
Competition success for Comic Hilltop FRH continued. Paired with Carola Koppelmann, Comic quickly moved into the FEI arena with excellent results. In 2005, Comic and Carola swept their classes at the Hickstead CDI in England; the pair capped off the 2006 show season with a win at the prestigious Nürnberger BurgPokal Finals with a 74.10%. In 2007, the pair moved up to the Grand Prix level and immediately qualified for the HKM Cup, a finals for young Grand Prix horses.
Comic’s sire Come On (Cantus-Langraf I) was Reserve Champion of his stallion performance testing in Medingen. Come On developed into a successful international show jumper with wins and top placings at Nations Cup events under Ludger Beerbaum, Ralf Schneider, and HRH Princess Haya of Jordan.
Comic's dam Pik Dame (Platon I-Grande) has produced five offspring by different sires competing successfully in both dressage and show jumping. Her sire, the Westphalian stallion Platon I was a successful jumper on the open international level under Nelson Pessoa for Brazil and under German federal trainer Kurt Gravemeyer for Germany. Platon I traces back to the Thoroughbred stallion Pluchino xx, as do the influential stallions Polydor and Pilot. Pik Dame's dam Grande Maree competed herself in show jumping and produced Adonis S by Almé Star and Rosita by Raphael, both successful show jumpers to the intermediate level.
The first foals by Comic Hilltop FRH hit the ground in Germany, Canada, and the US in 2005. His offspring demonstrate a beautiful uphill balance in their frames and their sire’s supple, elasticity movement and clear elevation of the stride through the knee and forearm. Costello HTF won all of his classes, including the Colt Championship, Young Horse Championship, and the Grand Championship at the Fair Hill Breed Show II in 2009. Comic’s daughter Chamira earned her Elite Mare status with the Hanoverian Verband in Canada and son Comic Star qualified for the Bundeschampionat in Germany and has won a number of young horses classes. In 2011, Sheila O'Keefe's Chardonnay scored up to 8.0 in the FEI 6 Year Old division and earned high praise for his elastic movement.
Those breeders looking for substance, versatility, and a quiet mind can look to Comic to compliment their mares. The movement for a Grand Prix dressage horse combined with a pedigree and aptitude for jumping, Comic offers a refreshing alternative.
Commandos dam, Laureen 016 is by Liostro, the last approved son of Lady Killer. Liostro produced over 100 successful sport horses including the Grand Prix winners Otis (Eliza Shuford), LioCalyon (International show jumper with Lu Thomas) and Sapphire (Mark Wattring) who was also the Pan American Games Individual Gold Medal Winner and 2004 Olympian. Liostro was the leading producer of money winners in the United States in 2002 and was ranked 9th in the USEF Leading Jumper Sires index .
Laureens grand sire Ladykiller xx clearly transmitted his marked type, magnificent head, correct and powerful foundation and excellent jumping ability in regards to capacity, manner of jumping, leg technique and above all spirit. His sons, Landgraf I and Lord, are some of the most influential stallions to date. He also sired other great stallions &, today it is almost a requirement that a horse from Holstein carries two or three times the invaluable foundation sire Ladykiller xx's blood.
